3rd Annual My Yacht Concours Aboard Al Capone’s M/Y Acania with Vontobel, Krug, Davidoff, Chappellet, and more

In what has become a cluttered week of events during Monterey Car Week, My Yacht Group’s annual Concours gathering was the most coveted invitation of the weekend, with two exclusive evenings aboard M/Y Acania, the 140-foot, 1929 superyacht originally commissioned by Al Capone.

Friday evening, an intimate group enjoyed vintage Krug Champagne, fine Chappellet Wines & Davidoff Cigars as the historic Prohibition-era, steel-hulled motor yacht took a whale watching tour of Monterey Bay. Guests included auto magnate Kevin Kalkhoven, racing legend Jimmy Vasser, Gumball3000 founder Maximillion Cooper with rapper wife, Eve, plus David Olson, owner of Acania & Olson Steel, who gave a brief introduction to Acania, her storied past & famous former owners who have also included the Walgreen family.

Saturday evening saw the official My Yacht Concours reception presented by long-term partner Vontobel Swiss Wealth Advisors AG, with board executives and top West Coast clients aboard. A 458 Speciale A from Ferrari of San Francisco, plus a custom Delahaye, & two Arch KRGT-1 Motorcycles, welcomed guests to Breakwater Cove Marina. Onboard, Cyril Chappellet poured wines from his Napa Valley winery including the 95+ point Signature Cabernet Sauvignon. Rebecca Creek Distillery owner Steve Ison returned with his fine Texas Whiskey & Enchanted Rock Premium Vodka, & guests enjoyed responsibly-sourced, farm-to-table hors d’oeuvres, plus caviar, followed by Davidoff Cigars’ newest collection, the Brazilian Escurio. Guests were entertained by exquisite acoustic tunes from indie brother-sister duo, The Luck, while a photo booth kept the silly hats going well into the night!

Legendary automotive collectors with a combined garage value in excess of $500m, & HNW guests from across the country, were joined by the likes of Victor Mueller, owner of Spyker Cars, auto designer Henrik Fisker, Vertu chief designer & founder Frank Nuovo, Million Dollar Listing SF’s Roh Habibi, Ferrari Club of America members, Concorso Italiano CI Club members, & more.

Other partners included Chariotz, The World, CaptiveOne, Pura Vida, plus media partners 65 Degree Magazine, & Private Air Luxury Homes. A portion of proceeds from the evening will benefit My Yacht’s chosen charities the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, & Disabled American Veterans.
