My Yacht® Club Returns for 4th Straight Year During USAF1 Weekend; Brings Signature Monaco-Style Glamor to Austin, TX
Los Angeles, CA October 26, 2015 My Yacht™ Group, (MYG) returned to the Lone Star State for a fourth consecutive year with it’s custom-created My Yacht® Club during the 2015 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix™ race weekend.
In anticipation of a lower attendance, given the addition of the Formula 1 Gran Premio de Mexico 2015 on the weekend immediately following, the pop-up Monaco-style nightlife experience took place on one night only, Saturday 24 October, at the historic Brazos Hall in downtown Austin.
The evening saw a full program of entertainment beginning with the Full Tilt Fashion Show, produced by designer Linda Asaf, and hosted by Holly-Mills Gardner and Christian Ramirez. Well-dressed guests enjoyed an energetic runway show featuring a variety of international designers, including Consuela, Kippy’s, Lez a Lez, Robert Graham, and more.
With all models walking together to close the show, the room was then transformed into My Yacht Club + Blu, marking the first time two ‘pop-up’ nightlife USAF1 forces have teamed to create a single nightclub experience for discerning visiting F1 fans and locals alike. Blu, headed by Formula VIP’s Ian Weightman with Ginger Leigh, has a strong local following, while My Yacht Club has a proven track record with international, and out-of-state HNW guests. Nicholas Frankl, CEO of Entertainment Marketplace LLC, brokered the deal.
Says Nicholas Frankl, “Given a steady drop in attendance at this race each year, and with the advent of the new Grand Prix in Mexico City, it was clear that the race weekend could not sustain multiple pop-up clubs, or even multiple nights. The partnership of My Yacht Club + Blu made perfect business sense and created a unique nightlife event. The club was sold out on Saturday night, despite torrential rain, and everyone had a great time. We look forward to bringing My Yacht Club back to Austin in 2016.”
Partners for the evening included the Official champagne of F1™, G.H. Mumm whose champagne fountain and photo booth provided plenty of fun for guests.
A portion of proceeds from the evening benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation Central and S. Texas Chapter.
Sunday saw Saturday’s rain-delayed qualifying session in the morning, followed by an exhilarating race at the Circuit of the Americas. Multiple incidents, safety cars and retirements later, Mercedes AMG Petronas driver Lewis Hamilton took the checkered flag to be crowned World Champion for a third time.
