THE BritWeek party set against the backdrop of
great British Cars, from Classic to Contemporary, on
Wednesday, May 6th
(May 1, 2009 - Los Angeles) On Wednesday, May 6th, 2009, from 6:30pm to 11pm at
the world famous Petersen Automotive Museum, THE BritWeek party will take place set
against a backdrop of classic to contemporary British Cars, ranging from Fred Astaire's
Rolls Royce and the Jaguar driven by Steve McQueen in "Bullet" to the 2009 Aston
Martin DBS, a replica of James Bond's car from "Casino Royale," and "Bond Girls".
This exclusive evening will include cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and dancing to British
Invasion hits from "Decades," a sensational tribute band that play hits of the 70's, 80's
and 90's at many celebrity parties.
Cool Britannia is part of BritWeek 2009, an annual tradition celebrating British
contributions to Los Angeles in film, fashion, music, sports, the automotive industry, art
and science. Chaired by British Consul General Bob Peirce and Nigel Lythgoe
(President 19 Entertainment President and Producer & Judge of "So You Think You Can
Dance?"), BritWeek not only highlights all things British in LA, it provides important
community support by raising funds for notable charities.
BritWeek 2009 commenced on April 21st with a star-studded Gala Dinner at the Beverly
Wilshire Hotel, at which guest of honor former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and
superstar Daughtry helped BritWeek raise critical funds and awareness for Malaria No
More. Other BritWeek events include a major fashion show, a celebrity soccer game at
the Home Depot Center immediately preceding the LA Galaxy vs. NY Red Bulls match
on May 2nd, the BAFTA/LA British Comedy Festival, art exhibitions, concerts by UB40,
Jeff Beck and Joss Stone, and more.
Cool Britannia on May 6th also features 100 Years of Morgan Motors, classic to
contemporary Bentleys (from a 1931 Bentley LeMans to one of only 500 Bentley
Brooklands 2009), to Aston Martins, MINIs, Jaguars and many more. The party will be
attended by celebrities as well as many leaders in the business and entertainment
communities.
